So I got ready quickly this morning so that I could train the dogs before school.
I decided to work with Sassy on the "leave it" command. Dingo knows the command quite well and he is hilarious when we play this game called the "leave it game". I will have to add a video of it later. I taught Dingo the "leave it" command when I first got him. I never got around to training Sassy the command though and since last night I started training it to Macy I decided to also start with Sassy.
She is learning quite quickly that when she ignores the food and looks at me she gets the food, but when she is trying to get the food from my hand or on the floor she doesn't get any. I'm sure after getting up early for the next few weeks she will learn it and understand the command.
Training in the morning before school is working out a lot better than working after school. I still train after school, but sometime things come up, especially with homework and I don't get time to train. Getting up early and training even for 15 minutes in the morning helps a lot, that way I for sure get a little bit of training time in. I wish I could just stay home from school all day and train. And play outside since the weather is so nice (:
I'll blog more later about agility in the barn tonight.
I have to go... I'm at school and have work to do.
