This Weekend's trial Results (:

The trial this weekend went pretty good. Unfortunately Dingo has been having a really bad week (It started Tuesday). Something is not right. He is very panicky and has a lot of anxiety. He has almost a panic attack when he enters my room (Thursday night a balloon got caught in my ceiling fan and completely freaked him out on top of him already acting weird this week). His runs Friday and Saturday were good, but he just wasn't himself and one run was awful. He was just really acting odd. Saturday night we talked to a friend and we were able to borrow her thunder shirt and anxiety pills for dogs. We gave those to him Saturday night in hopes that they would help, plus he wore the thunder shirt. Thankfully those things did help, a lot(: He was back to his normal self today (actually better than normal at trials). Normally at trials he is very anxious (nothing like he was Friday and Saturday though). But today he wore the thunder shirt all day up until 2 dogs before his run and during his run. It went right back on him when we got out of the ring. It was amazing just how calm and layed back he was. Todays runs were AMAZING! We qualified in Excellent B Standard with a very smooth run, unfortunately not that fast, so no MACH points, but he was having fun and not panicking, plus we got a MX leg! Excellent B Jumpers with weaves was a great run too! Too bad that I messed him! I hate handler errors. He did exactly what I told him to do, I sent him out over a jump too far so he went around it, he watches my shoulders sooo closely and my timing was off as well. My timing is getting better though and more consistent.
Dingo also showed in Open Obedience on Friday. His heeling was okay, although he was a little distracted. His drop on recall and retrieve on flat was perfect. It was a 4 ring trial though. And it happened to be that 2 Obedience rings were right next to eachother with only a small baby gate in between. So when I threw my dumbbell over that highjump and sent him the guy in the ring next to me was calling his dog over the broad jump (not even 4 feet away from us) so of course Dingo had to have an extra command. He knew he messed up so it made him nervous which caused him to walk the broad jump, but thats okay. I know what to work on. I am super happy though because he successfully did his out of sight sit and down stays!!!!!! The last 2 trials he panicked and ran out of the ring.
Sassy showed this weekend as well. It was her very first AKC Agility Trial (and real agility trial). She did pretty good. She only showed one day in Agility (Saturday). Jumpers with weaves was her very first class. She did awesome! So much better than what I expected. She did not qualify though. I messed up and got nervous and did a rear cross (which I have NEVER practiced with her) so she refused the jump, and then I took her back to have her jump it and she knocked the bar. We did qualify in standard although we did not do very well. We were overtime (just a little) and she kept refusing obstacles although only one refusal counted because all the others she wasn't in the plane of the obstacle. Our jumpers run was quite a bit smoother but we qualified in standard. Oh well, my baby girl did good for her first AKC agility trial!
Sassy also showed in Novice Rally. It is her first time showing in Rally. She did such a great job! We got a 96 with a 3rd place! Our score would have been perfect, but she decided to try and eat gum off the floor (grrrr). But she preformed sooo nicely! And I am very proud. (And the judge had a very sharp pencil, I know from her judging in Obedience the days before and from her judging my friends).
I am very proud of my dogs this weekend. I am glad that we have gotten Dingo's problem taken care of, he was really worrying me. I had such a fun time, although I was very busy. I met a new friend (: and I hope he starts running agility with his dogs soon. It would be nice to have another junior around here thats my age! I also was very busy scribing all of the classes I was not running. I even scribed Excellent 4"-16" because Dingo runs 20". I was a very busy girl, but had so much fun!!!!
Addicted to Agility again and just can't wait until it cools down (108 F lately) so me and the dogs can start running more again.
Well, off to go watch tv with the family, night,
Tequilla & the Cattle Dog Pack, plus Lab Pup
